Had BBC London been able to use its own studio (still being completed), I wonder if the News channel would have stayed rolling with the Apollo story during the Ten from studio A?

How Tim appeared in studio E at 21:40 is still a mystery.

Sky News have certainly had the better coverage tonight, by far. Mainly due to them being live from the scene with live pictures and interviews.

Edit. The BBC are still mis-astoning the member of the London Ambulance Service as being from the Fire Service.

No BBC paper review so far and no guests in the studio.

Wasn't it a repeated interview?

I should hope not. No idea why Sky News have gone ahead with it. What's the point in 'reviewing' papers that are already out of date? In fact, why not drop the pretence of a paper review altogether and just have guests in each evening talking about the news? They very rarely actually review the papers on either channel anyway.

I can't help feel that BBC/ITV didn't lead with the story as they didn't have good enough access/footage. Many of the papers tomorrow are leading with it.

BBC London didn't report on it at all. Just to say at the end of the bulletin that more coverage can be found on the News Channel

BBC News channel choosing to show an online look at the papers tonight, covering the Apollo incident. Good, and interesting call.

Oh it's so painfully bad. Fair play to them giving it a shot but, just nope.

Newsday on BBC World News as scheduled, leading with the Apollo story, News channel went straight from The Papers to TOTH, Papers guests were still there for the sequence.

Ross Hawkins seems to have taken over from Ben Ando who only seemed to appear briefly. I wonder if Ross was close to the scene when it happened, as his live phone two way in the News at 9 was pretty quick after it took place.

It's always interesting to see reporters/correspondents from different news departments covering an incident like this (in this case, Political). I think the same happened when the London Helicoper Crash took place with the likes of Vicky Young covering that.

Bit of a shame Nick Higham wasn't on shift tonight, especially being a Theatre Blogger himself.

For anyone interested, this was the rather ridiculous way Fox News explained the unfolding story.

Shepard's explanation at :40 seconds in, you just couldn't make up.

The most interesting part of that video was the mention of https://twitter.com/frasereC4 as an interesting social media source.
