I think because the Emergency Services have confirmed that there's no one critically ill there it can move back down the order. BBC World News America is leading with the story. London news didn't meniton it on their headlines.

Interesting that the Ten is leading with the Lee Rigby story and the News Channel is taking it rather than continuing with rolling coverage.

Sensible though - isn't much to add to the Apollo story at the moment and it's been a fairly major day for news stories with a few stories which ordinarily would be the top headlines. ITV also leading with the Lee Rigby story on the one and only night this week the news is on at 10pm.

Radio wise, Sam Naz has been seconded from 60 Seconds to read news bulletins on BBC London 94.9. I didn't watch 60 Seconds to see who's on, but I suspect Claudia-Liza Armah is on Three for the rest of the night.

Just checked Live Restart, Claudia-Liza did indeed take the bulletin.

No, something even weirder happened. Chris Rogers appeared at 9 and then morphed into Tim about 10 minutes later. I wonder who was scheduled to take over at 9. Chris may have just filled for that ten mins and is actually on duty for the London late bulletin.

That's surprising as Alice Bhandhukravi presented the 8pm heads on BBC London.

Have the BBC still got an apparent policy where young females must read the 8pm headlines.

Not on the London side it's not. Asad Ahmad, Alex Bushell, Chris Rogers and I don't think Riz Lateef with all due respect is a young female all read the 8.

For the people asking if Tim was in Studio E, he indeed was (if only for a short time).

Ben Ando live from the scene now. Let's hope we don't have any riots sparking or satellite trucks smashed! Wink

Tonight's BBC News at Ten is 30 minutes - has it been indefinitely extended from its usual 25 minutes? Those extra 5 minutes or so, on tonight of all nights with some big stories, are very useful indeed.

I hope I'm not just imagining this!

Whoever that was making the statement on BBC was from the Ambulance service, not fire.

Sam Naz was only on BBC London 94.9 for the 2200 bulletin, the duty newsreader has returned.
