I suspect that Darren Jordon will take the lead role then either:
Sian Williams takes over as second presenter
Sophie Raworth takes over as second presenter when she returns (at this sort of time with Natasha Kaplinsky still on the Six)
Natasha Kaplinsky takes over as second presenter when Sophie returns and regains control of the Six.
Wasn't there a rumour a few months ago that the 1pm News would be replaced with a News 24 simulcast?
I wouldn't like to see that, though I'd have no problem with the BBC1 bulletin being simulcast on News 24 (which only shows a 30 min signed summary at 1pm - they could just as easily sign the One o'clock News!).
The big problem is that the packages on News 24 in the afternoon are from the One o clock news - so the savings are very small
Will be a shame to see Anna go from BBC News, but i echo the sentiments of others in respect of the fact she has faded and not been at her usual high standards the last few months. I think there may be a whole presenter reshuffle and an excuse for a new set and titles (prays!)
Im thinking along the lines of:
ONE: Natasha Kaplinsky, with Darren Jordon as reserve
SIX: Jon Sopel and Jane Hill
TEN: a move to two presenters: Huw Edwards and Sophie Raworth
Look out (perhaps) for a BBC World face to come across onto BBC One news......................I am thinking possibly of either a humorous Welshman, or a beautiful Biz Presenter.................
(And, no, not Aaron Heslehurst, Matrix, before you say it.................)
