Look East have changed the background behind the presenters. It appears to be of the Forum as previously. It however appears to have more red in it and is a blurrier style image then the previous crisp picture previously.

Just noticed the lift going down so it is a moving image, whether live or pre-recorded not sure.

The previous backdrop appeared to be a live image of the library - but it was usually very de-saturated and a bit "sepia" - and was far from great as a studio background.

I suspect they have taken a recording from this feed, and artworked in some red bits to make it appear a bit more "BBC" and also to appear a bit more "TV". It is certainly an improvement even if it is no longer live...

Random thought alert...

The pan-regional weekend Meridian Newses still manage to have a "window" behind the presenters (Brighton Pier), rather than the teal "screen saver" backdrop, right?

So, is there any settlement/locality (etc) that can be said to be suitably applicable to both Anglia sub-regions, instead of the teal "screen saver", for GMTV/weekend bulletins?

Last time I saw a weekend Meridian bulletin they had reverted to the horrible teal animation.

Norwich is used for GMTV/weekend bulletins on the screem behind them. Some GMTV bulletins do have the camera facing a flatscreen with this "screensaver", but the Norwich backdrop is being used a lot more now.

But the norwich background forthe pan regional bulletins is not the same as for the anglia east editions. Its more zoomed and landmarks are less promiment. Last time i watched all u could make out was a generic office block (only locals would know it was in Norwich).

As for locations that are within both sub regions, well how about newmarket? Could have backdrop of the racecourse Smile

The problem with Newmarket is it's an overlap between Anglia West and Anglia South. However, I do agree it would make a good backdrop.

But surely "Anglia South" is only an advertising sub-region - there's only "East" and "West" versions of the actual news , right? So, that can't very well be a "problem"! Smile Razz

At one point I was lead to believe South has it's own news now, but I could be wrong. Still, South always had different news to West, so there is still the overlap problem.

Sudbury txr (Anglia 'South') is in its own advertising region, but takes East news.

Look East has gained a clock during BBC Breakfast this morning. It is aligned to the BBC Look East logo of the name astons.

No - only two Anglia News regions - Anglia News East and Anglia News West. The Anglia South advertising sub-region takes Anglia News East.

(Sandy is Anglia News West, Tac and Sudbury are Anglia News East)

There are only two Anglia News studios...

Amelia Reynolds and Jenny Kirk presenting this evening on Look East, don't think I have seen the two of them together before. Is Stewart now the only male presenter for Norwich now.
