The Anglia studios look great, and it's great to see they have the new astons. Very Happy I wish Meridian had a nice backdrop but we just have the crappy generic ITV blue and yellow cubes. Mad

I have to say it looks great. I remember when I went on holiday to the north-west in the summer watching Granada Tonight, saying I wish Anglia have studio and graphics like it.

Now they do, they have the new generic ITV studio and the Granada animated graphics. The live studio seems to mostly fit my widescreen TV now, but the recorded fotage doesn't look as good.

It seems that they have swiched to a new playout system from the old tape one. Quality has improved and it seems to run properly from the start, not the ITV music sounding dodgy and it fading in late.

We don't even have a projection at all, but afaik all other regions (with corp set) do. What gives?

So still no proper widescreen by the looks of it.

That's because ITV Plc. don't allow them to broadcast in Widescreen. Tyne Tees News is broadcast just as Anglia (and all other ITV Regions), but 'Around the House' is shown in widescreen - even though it's from exactly the same place. The old studios were widescreen too - again not allowed to broadcast in proper widescreen.

Could be the Whiteley broom cupboards aren't big enough to house a decent sized projector - even with folded mirrors.

Well as a resident of Bedford, may I say how nice the bridge is looking now. I don't know whether it will remain blue, although I expect it will since the colour blue is synonymous with Bedford. It's great (and somewhat a mystery) that Anglia have decided to use The Embankment as their backdrop.

In Charlie Wells' picture, the Anglia West backdrop looks like Cambridge University or something. But M@ is speaking of a bridge in Bedford as being the Anglia West backdrop.

I'm confused.

They are going to use a different backdrop each day from around the Anglia west region, such as Bedford, Cambridge, Northampton etc
