I tried to find an older thread rather than start anew but could not find anything appropriate for this part of the world...

Anyway just wondered if anyone else saw monumental cock up on Anglia Tonight (East) last night? About 6.15pm the screen froze with a static caption although we could still hear the presenters. They tried to carry on as normal briefly but then it went quiet....they then abandoned the East programme and we got the rest of AT (West).

Caroline welcomed viewers from the East of the region to the West programme who were joining due to technical problems....the East programme never returned. Wonder if they will mention anything in tonight's programme? Interesting how a something like this can affect only one of the programmes seeing as they are in the same building etc...

There was a small article about it in today’s EDP.

Obviously the two programs are controlled etc from different galleries and the east versions vision mixer basically came to the end of its life on air yesterday.

Out of curiousity are the East and West studios different in appearance. I get the West edition and that studio has barely changed in years, with the exception of getting a new background during the ITV News revamp and another new background a few weeks later.

All change on December 3rd!

Anglia rebuilt their news facilities when they moved from Anglia House to Magdalene St, and got a digital gallery, the old mixer was bought by the BBC and installed at Look East in Cambridge. Anglia are about to relocate - and no doubt replace their gear - and Cambridge will continue soldiering on with a slightly elderly mixer... (Until the operation is relocated to MK)

I'd never seen the West studio before, and they are identical but clearly the west is virtual (looking at the shadows and outlines around hair and the bottom of the desk particularly) and looks slightly odd imo.
