It's just that it seems to rather defeat the object, having images from the wrong (sub-)region in the title sequence. You wouldn't put the white cliffs of Dover in the Meridian
South
title sequence now, would you?
Sure, but that's a distinctive landmark. A classroom of schoolkids isn't geographically identifiable (unless you actually know the classroom or one of the kids).
BBC regional news has shown that you can get away with using the same images in different titles. The same field of cabbage-pickers appeared in Look North and East Midlands Today's titles at one point (as well as the News 24 countdown). There's also a sequence of kids playing on a housing estate which made its way into both the Look North (NE&C) and South Today titles!
