Andrew Neil on ITV

This question has probably arised before, but why does Andrew Neil, the host of the BBC's Daily Politics, often appear as a pundit or expert on ITV News.

He quite often crops up to give his views on political matters, and was one of the more high-profile guests on ITV's infamous Election Night boat!

Well he works for the BBC on a freelance basis, as well as being an editor of several publications, doesn't he? Nothing stopping him appearing on ITV.
