Don't get it.
He's having a jab at shows which use an 'x' or 'extra', i.e. DanceX, The X Factor, The Xtra Factor, HardTalk Extra, Ten O'Clock News Extra, Extra Time, Newsround Extra, BBC News Extra (shown for a time on BBC World, now defunct), BBC Radio 1Xtra, Five Live Sports Extra, Sky Sports Extra, ITV Evening News Extra....well, you get my drift.

I've never seen an "Xtra/Extra" programme that offered anything that could even be classed as "Extra" by any normal definition of the word.
EastEnders Xtra, for example, claimed the typical "behind the scenes" blurb and interviews. It turned out to be aimed at ten year olds and "text your answer to this number".
CBBC Xtra had potential but looked like they'd lost the plot when the same loop of film went on and on for six months.
The advantage of Sunday AM over the Andrew Marr Show was that it covered for the odd time Marr might not be there without sounding too weird.
See recent discussion about the oddness of US news "with main presenter - tonight with someone else completely" - when they're not there! To the British ear, I reckon "The Andrew Marr Show with Huw Edwards" just sounds wrong!
And yes, I know it's happened recently with Declan on "Heaven and Earth with Gloria Hunniford" but it still sounds daft.

Cheers for that, Robert. I'm with you now!
And absolutely agree with TG. I really think we should get away from the America "XXX News with Joe Blogs", eerm, Joe Bloggs is off today....
Changing the name to the "Andrew Marr Show" is a purely cosmetic move, there has been no change in the political focus or agenda from what I could see.
A rather pointless move IMO. I think this trend of placing peoples' names in the programme title to be a very unwelcome drift to an american style.
It does seem a strange choice to change names; Sunday AM was by far better. Within that title there was the fact that it was Sunday morning and presented by Andrew Marr, whereas the new title is uninteresting and simply promotes Andrew.
As others have mentioned, when Andrew isn't there it will sound silly. I remember when Peter Sissons presented Breakfast With Frost - 'this is Breakfast With Frost ... without Frost'.

I agree with that point also. I happened to catch either ABC or CBS Evening News one day last week
(I watch for the pure farce of the presentation style you understand)
and noticed that whoever's name was splashed across the title sequence clearly wasn't there - unless they had undergone a gender-reassignment operation earlier in the day at very short notice and the broadcaster had been sloppy enough not to update the titles.
What was wrong with just Sunday AM? In America the sunday morning political shows dont have the names in the title on screen (although im sure the announcer says who the main presenter is, ie Meet The Press with Tim Russert , Face The Nation with Bob Shiefer).
In the "old days" when El Tel would go on vacation, his slot on Wogan was often filled in by Sue Lawley. But, the show was still called "Wogan". Until several years later, when it was re-named "Wogan, with Sue Lawley" whilst he was away.
The point being that the anchor/presenter/household name was himself/herself a very strong brand, and hence their name would be incorporated into the programme titles.
I think it's a naff idea myself, and Breakfast with Frost was only really Breakfast with Frost if Frost was actually there!!!! Why couldn't they re-name it Breakfast with Sissons for just three weeks? Surely the GBP is intelligent enough to have caught-on to the fact that Frost is away, but Sissons is here instead??
