I'm glad to hear that Nick Robinson will replace Andrew Marr. Andrew Marr is damn good political editor - probably one of the best the BBC has ever had and his boots are real big ones to fill in, but I think Nick will prove to be a good replacement. He was never ITV material - always carried the BBC mannerisms and style of reporting.
Nick Robinson will succeed Andrew Marr as the BBC's political editor, the corporation confirmed today.
Before moving to ITV News three years ago to fill a similar role, Robinson was BBC News 24's chief political correspondent. In his new position, Robinson will be responsible for BBC News' political output on TV, radio, and online.
"I'm delighted Nick Robinson is returning to the BBC," said the BBC's deputy director general, Mark Byford. "Nick's passion, energy, insight and political knowledge are matched by his outstanding communication skills and deep commitment to fairness and impartiality. Nick is the right person to succeed Andrew Marr after Andrew's brilliant period as Political Editor."
