Low key but very much appropriate...were you expecting a look back through the decades or something?
WELL that was low key...

It was low key but it was like a farewell to both Alastair and Natasha the way she said "From Alastair and Me Goodnight".
It was also symbolic the passing of Gordon Honeycome and the mention of Alastair Burnett.
No mention of Tom Bradby thinking about it.

There was no mention of the new look in 2013 when the last NaT in the car park was presented by Natasha and Alastair either.

Not really, he left ITN in 1992 and presented London Tonight for quite a few years
I know Alastair will continue to present the 1:30 and the 6:30 news, but he has been associated with News at Ten for the last 30-odd years. A significant milestone in this day and age.

And rejoined ITN in 2004 when they took over the regional news contract from LNN. However I don't think he was given any national shifts until a couple of years later.

Longer than I thought. So definately not a 30 year stint at News At Ten

He was a main presenter on the ITV News Channel and certainly was doing the ITV Lunchtime News from 2005 if not earlier.

He'd already returned to ITN a year earlier as a presenter on the news channel at the outbreak of war in Iraq. Think he did a few weekend bulletins on ITV as well but not sure.

He actually fronted some national news programmes during the 'war on terror' which I think was before ITN took over from LNN.
Edit: beaten to it, but did find this:

LO
Carol Barnes too.
Yes he was one of the heavyweights who were drafted in to ITV News during the war on terror including the ITV News Channel. Julia Somerville and Angela Rippon were the others were they not?
