Interesting to see George Alagiah doing the ONE today. Anna, Darren and Jane not available? Cant remember the last time we saw George do the ONE. Wouldn´t Sophie normally do it? Perhaps we'll see Sophie on the Ten tonight?
You can see the bulletin online, and quite clearly George hasn´t done it much, he got the camera shots wrong at the start of the bulletin.
Yeah Darren musn't be available at the moment as, going by the way things have worked recently, he would probably have been asked to do the Ten yesterday, or whenever it was that Peter Sissons did it. Yes, maybe they'll try Sophie on the Ten tonight, but who's to say that Fiona isn't back today.IMO it would be nice to see Sissons do it again.
I got the impression that those in the gallery might still have been suffering from the refreshments at the RTS awards last night.
To say it was a "poor" bulletin would be an understatement. How many times did they cue up that clip of the red carpet on air in the middle of other reports?

I agree, it was pretty shambolic wasn't it. I know Alagiah doesn't read that bulletine regularly at all, but that's no excuse not to get the right camera etc. And he wasn't helped by the crew who made more mistakes than I care to remember.
By the way, I hadn't seen Paul Welsh on BBC1 for a very long time. Does he report for News 24 or radio? Or is he freelance or something? If I'm remember correctly, he used to report for Newsround years ago.

I haven't seen George Alagiah present the One O'clock News since he moved to BBC4 News in 2002. If you remember, he was a regular presenter on the One O'clock News with Anna Ford from 1999-2002. He used to have Darren Jordon's role.

Paul Welsh does quite a bit of reporting for BBC World - usually from Africa, IIRC. He may also work on BBC World Service Radio.
Paul Welsh was West Africa Correspondent until 2003. He then came back to London, mainly as Defence and Security Correspondent for BBC World Service. He also occasionally presents 'Newshour' on the World Service - which is the flagship news programme.

No, the legend that is the lovely Fiona Bruce is presenting the Ten O' Clock News tonight (Friday 25th February). I can't wait, it's going to be the hightlight of my night

Now look what happened last week, you thought it was going to be Bruce, but it turned out to be Jordan. What will you do if it isn't her? Will your orgasm have to hold until Gavin Esler or Kirsty Wark?
I really would suggest going out that thing, at the front of your house called a *door*. There is a world out there.

Well, funny you should say that becuase I like Gavin, Kirsty and Jeremy, they're all highly educated (Gavin went to the University of Leeds, Kirsty went to the University of Edinburgh and Jeremy went to the University of Cambrdige) and they're all good presenters.
Fiona is definately on tonight, because Sophie said so on the 6pm News update. I think Darren stood in for Fiona last Friday because she was on holiday last week or was ill because FIona ALWAYS presents the 10 O' Clock News on Fridays. I would like to go out but it's far to cold, so I'm going to watch the Ten O'Clock News with Fiona, then Newsnight with Kirsty (Kirsty always presents Newsnight on Fridays). I'm so excited.
