Have just seen the short promo for Al Jazeera International on Hotbird (11.034 V 27500 3/4)... it's in 16:9 and if the music isn't composed by David Lowe it should have been.

Edit: It's also on Astra2 11.681 V 27500 3/4 and is labelled AJI on a Sky Digibox.

Any captures?

They also use the phrase 'world service televison news' which is a very BBC phrase.

There are 2 trailers running on the test transmissions, the one above and other which includes David Frost

um, they always just appear. Or do you mean will it be on the EPG at all? I head that it will. It'll appear somewhere between 510-519 (or maybe 508?).

It's nice to hear Felicity's voice again, and there was a very quick shot of her in the trailer. Sounds good to me.

Latest rumours I hear re: launch date (from someone recently interviewed for a job) is late May - hopefully.

This may not be accurate (i.e. the person at AJI may not be in the loop fully)

Sounded like they've still got quite a lot to sort out in some areas.

I wonder what the studio will be like. Are we expecting it look big?

Depends which studio you mean. Unlike BBC World and Sky News they aren't anchoring from a single location (I know BBC World use Washington for some co-pres - but the London studio dominates)

Like CNN International they are running presentation studios in London, Washington, Kuala Lumpur and Doha, and will present long chunks from each of these locations.

AIUI the London studios are in a very central location (close to Harrods?) though I don't know about design. I'd expect the studios to look expensive - and I wouldn't be surprised if they differed significantly from AJ's current look.

We're expecting all four studios to be HDTV - and there are rumours it may be carried in HD in a form that Sky HD viewers can watch.

Is anyone else puzzled as to why there are two Al Jazeera threads or is it just me not knowing something?
