I think the Listening Post has come from London since the move to the new set a few months ago, however don't quote me on that

Listening Post has always come from London

Something tells me this is a precursor to an official launch of Al Jazeera UK.

According to what I've heard it's to do with upgrade work going on in Doha.

Yes, Sony are engaged in a 143 million dollar upgrade there at present

They seem to be having a few issues tonight. HD is currently SD, one of the reports kept on freezing and they're repeating an episode of The Stream from almost a year ago (do they do this often?) which is different to the episode listed in the EPG).

It was in SD here as well, the SD picture is even more ropey because of it.

Thank goodness for that, I thought it was my TV.

It must be the playout part that's affected can't imagine there's a problem with the actual sources.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. AJAM is essentially reversing much of its programming decisions from a few weeks ago:

http://newsonnews.com/news/nc/emea/aljazeera/250315-al-jazeera-america-expands-live-news-programming

The press release claims live news from 6am-noon Eastern, though Doha and London will be "woven in," so it sounds like really AJAM will be back from 6-8am, continuing AJE simulcasts through mid morning, and then a new hour of AJAM news midday. This all starts Monday.

I did find it strange that when they cut the morning news a few weeks ago, they replaced it with AJAM taped content for several hours rather than more AJE simulcasts.

AlJazeera America's problems continues. Lawsuits and high profile execs quits amid alleged sexism and antisemitism from higher ups. Messy messy messy. Oh and the ratings havent changed either. During major US stories AJAM is barely present. I do prefer their even handed tone. But when a story continues to develop they move away. They frankly arent good at rolling domestic coverage. They sometime even ignore breaking domestic stories. That doesnt take away from their good journalism but obviously no one is watching. I still say its the name. After 9/11 and all stuff the name has just left a bad taste in most Americans mouths. But thats my personal opinion. But these behind the scene troubles have been bubbling for a while.

Things continue to take a nasty turn at AL JAZEERA AMERICA. Their big cull from CNN, Ali Velshi is reportedly in talks to rejoin CNN. This according to FTVLIVE. Lets see how this plays out.
