Or just use the Hola Better Internet extension. AJAM simulcasts AJE half the time as well anyway...

I wouldn't touch Hola with a bargepole.

I like betternet on my iphone to view AJE. I occasionally use it to pull in the European feed of WN - given all the opt outs in North America.

The voice sounds like Peter Dobbie and if it is him, then he probably made his debut on Al Jazeera not too long ago.

He made his debut last Friday, in fact during the hours when the Mali hotel siege broke.

Does anyone know how the refurbishment is going in Doha? I believe the newsroom has now been empty over a year now?

Thank you. I thought they had given up. Maybe in time for their tenth anniversary?

I remember when they installed new computers months back, and thought they would start moving back in, but never happened. Maybe they have changed their plan and are now looking at revamping the studio floor.

The 'refurb' at Doha is a massive project, completely new installation, technology, and workflow. It's nothing like a bunch of new computers, and a repaint of the studio floor ! It's been going for two years now, I'm told by some there's at least another 12 months work ahead (I suspect, even longer)

Here's the temporary facilities (a project in itself) provided while the main work is continuing

The regular fault with the AJE Freeview HD feed has returned. It's so bad that I've had to watch the SD version as the upscaled version is really bad on my eyes.

Why would they start with an SD temporary set up and later upgrade? Surprised you can still buy SD kit.
