That said though there isn't anything obvious that sticks out in that view (as nice as it is) as a major London landmark either, though I'm probably missing something obvious.

I think a new breaking news ticker has appeared, don't think I've seen it before.
It 'cubes' over the original ticker and 'Breaking News' wipes off with the story.

Has Al Jazeera Eng stopped broadcasting in HD? The HD has disappeared fromthe logo and I can't tell if the picture is HD or upscaled SD now.

It's the upscaled SD version.

Bizarre. They are broadcasting it 1080i, but it's a very soft and low-quality SD version upscaled. Could almost be a direct-to-home SD satellite off-air feed upconverted.

Wonder if this is part of the cost-cutting (removing the need for an HD distribution feed for the UK)

maybe they are having a few technical issues, I've never seen the Al Jazerra News HD feed other then via the occasional Globecast link on 10e, Im not even sure why that even happens.
