I suppose you're right there rts, but I didn't want to babble on too much.
But I think it does deserve it, its done so much in a short time, not only is it a known channel but its proven many people wrong, such as Americans who said the channel wasn't really wanted there, but many Americans have signed up for the stream via the internet. They covered the death of Benazir Bhutto really well.

I think it would be nice for it to win, because if Sky do, nothing will change and they'll be all smarmy to the BBC!

Seems that quite a few senior figures at AJE are leaving.

Didn't realise that their main Washington anchor - Dave Marash - was one of them...

It's not entirely surprising, everyone at AJE got a two-year contract.... and they're all starting to come to an end.

When they were originally recruiting there were a lot of people I spoke to who hadthe attitude of going out there, taking advantage of the tax-free pay and free flat etc and then returning to the UK once the contract was up. Also having worked on a couple of launches myself I know that once the thing gets underway and established the attraction wears off and people, especially senior management, look out for new things.

I'd have thought that even without the problems there'd bea lot of people quitting around now

Yep - and the fact that one of the people leaving is married to someone suing them for various issues is probably an issue!

Yes it's News Manager left and with him some of his men at the channel , while at the same time David Marash left the channel too , ex CNN's Shehab Rattansi joined the channel in washington instead of marash and he is doing well.

btw , Did anyone watch the latest events in Egypt covered on AJE or any other channel ?

When does Darren Jordan present on AJE? And does anyone have any pictures or links please as I haven't found any?

Darren presents from the Doha broadcast centre, which are the headquaters.

Doha broadcast from 12 Midday until 8pm our time. There isn't much of fixed presenter rota. Darren usually presents the AlJazeera Newshour.
Out of the Doha presenters, Darren Jordan, Maryam Nemazee, Kemahl Santamaria, Lauren Taylor, Sami Zeidan, Imran Garda, Jane Dutton and Shulie Ghosh present the newshour's.

Sohail Rahman is the only presenter who doesn't at the moment, not sure why.

I have some on TV Newsroom NZ, but for some strange reason my image galleries aren't working. Link is here though http://tvnewsroom.co.uk/nz/aje/aje-section.php?id=presenters but you need Firefox to view it properly, and the image galleries as I said are not currently working.

Sorry, for not letting you know sooner, but I've only just come across your query.

You might have better luck searching if you type his name Darren Jord O n (not Jordan).

He is presenting the 18G Newshour tonight, Saturday, 18 April, starting in about 45 minutes.

And then he's presenting the programme Inside Story on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
