Showbizguru looks at his clock by the four poster and sees it's just after one 'o'clock on a Sunday lunchtime.
The smell of fried bacon wafts up the stairs along with Mrs Shwobizguru's cheerful whistling after an energetic but satisfying morning..
Suddenly Showbizguru sits bolt upright and slaps his forehead.
" Oh no," he says " I've only gone and missed John Craven ankle deep in cow dung and a load of second-rate Championship football games featuring lots of clubs close to financial extinction. "
Heh,heh,heh ...I think not.
Mrs Showbizguru smells of fried bacon? She needs to wash more often John Craven in cow-dung withers in comparison (although he was free from said excrement on Exmoor today).
Perhaps Mrs S was whistling along to Pick of the Pops at 4pm. Dale Winton has that affect on frustrated women you know-- confer Cilla Black and Barbara Windsor.
Just to let you know showbizguru, there is a bitch alert about you on Metropol, enjoy!
If Selina was going to be considered i can't understand why, considering the current line up of presenters are not exactly of the same era.
I'd enjoy it if I even knew what Metropol was.
Some sort of internet in-joke ?
Do enlighten me.
As for the Championship .. here's the current table and let's be honest every single team is a Premiership also-ran or comes from a place that is home to whey-faced,slack-jawed stand-up comics who'll never get a gig on tv.
I mean ... Doncaster and Barnsley ???
Suddenly a large cartoon lighbulb goes on above Showbizguru's head after he has a scout round the TV Forum website.
So Metropol is another section of TV Forum where people go to submit comments about people who have submitted comments elsewhere on the Forum.
And from what I read it's a bit more edgy with swearing and insults and stuff like that.
Right ... I think I understand it now.
It's all a bit too geeky for me because i was merely posting something about age discrimination amongst TV presenters.
But hey ...if it inspires debate amongst you then I'm all in favour of that.
Little did I know that I've been upsetting some saddoes for months.
As my mate Cheggers used to say " Wahaay "
Good luck to Selina i would like to see her back on TV. Although as some one else posted i doubt that she was even interested in the role in the first place .I mean who watches Five News .Carol Barnes ,Julia Sommerville both dropped by ITN .Yet look at Trevor Macdonald he is just awful on NAT .

Gotta disagree bro.
Selina Scott was frumpish, turgid and ridiculous even at the best of times. She's been non-existent on television for two decades and now Five, another barely-watched TV channel, isn't going to hire her.
Who really gives a toss ?
Any woman over 40 shouldn't be allowed to read the news because they and their wrinkles become more a matter of interest to the viewers than the news itself.
Mod edit: If you can't put your point across without being generally offensive then you soon won't be putting it across at all.
Yes but back in 1981 when Selina went to ITN she was considered very hot and sexy she did get a lot of press attention at the time. Female Newsreaders in those days were there to read the News and to be taken seriously many of them had to work hard to earn their place. Selina was head hunted by ITN .On BBC Angela Rippon,Jan Leeming and Moira Stuart were just as reserved if not more than Selina Scott.
Times have changed as have on air styles but when Selina Scott went to News at Ten in 1981 she was hot property and i don't think that she differs much from Sophie and Fiona on BBC currently .When most people watch the news they want to watch someone who is credible not some bimbo .

I think you will find it is Five - who choose and employ their main presenters, not Sky.
One thing that comes to mind - what about the likes of Radio One - where the DJ's become too old for the listeners. Can Tony Blackburn sue as they no longer employ him?
Interesting my old pal Michael Winner is in broad agreement with my argument that the news is best read by good-looking women.
As a general guideline I'd say mid-thirties is about the right cut-off point for women especially those reading the news at around 6pm because to be honest at that time they should be at home doing their kids' homework and providing a healthy and nutritious meal for their family.
