It's a great opportunity for Adrian, he's a hugely talented presenter and he will be sorely missed at the BBC.

Good luck to him in his new role, it will be more exposure for him and more challenges lie ahead.

Congratulations to Adrian. He's always been undervalued by the BBC and deserves all the success he gets.

Adrian probably left because CNN offered him more money than the beeb - nothing else.

I imagine it was the exposure in a regular, weekday time-slot, as much as the money, which clinched it for him.

Shame - yet another example of the BBC being clumsy with their gifted presenters.

Well the BBC don't make BBC World a priority unlike CNN who clearly put some effort into their international news channel.

I am sad to see Adrian leaving the BBC, but I shall now be switching my allegiance to CNN. Does anyone know what programming he will be presenting? Perhaps he is to be a replacement for the dreadful Max Foster, who hasn't really worked out at all on CNN. I cannot imagine the successful Becky Anderson and/or Fiounnula Sweeney being sidelined for Adrian, unless they will double header the late night output. Adrian would work well with Becky on screen. I look forward to seeing him on CNN.

It also means the reuniting of two greats - Quest and Finighan.

Good luck Adrian.

Why is Max Foster dreadful? I'm just interested in your opinion. Smile

4 broadcasts come out of the London Newsroom. CNN Today, Business International, World News Europe and International Correspondents.

I wonder if Adrian would replace Max Foster on CNN Today or co-anchor World News Europe as the two shows are the "main programmes" out of London.

I truly hope it's the latter, mark. i.e. that CNN will Double Header the World News Europe when Adrian joins.

I feel that he would be excellent - in any role of course - but particularly alongside Becky Anderson. That would be an excellent pairing and one wouldn't be surprised if viewer figures climbed as a result.

Looking forward to see what happens at CNN London in January!!

Max Foster is, I am sure, a nice guy. However, I feel that he is not suited to desk-bound presentation, and he struggles to interact effectively with his co-anchor. However, it is probably all just a matter of time, and he will become more relaxed in due course. He is very good at location work though.

Welcome to CNN, Adrian.

I'd heard rumours that CNN were investing more cash and resources into the London operation so perhaps they are planning new shows - that's just a guess

Adrian has just read the Radio Two 6pm news - Johnnie Walker's just said that he had heard that he's moving on and wished him well.

Adrian seemed to be a bit coy about it in his reaction.
