A shame to see him go from our screens*, but I guess CNN are obviously as much fans of Adrian as some people around here. The difference is, they've got a chequebook. And possibly comfier chairs in the newsroom.
Best wishes to you, nonetheless, Mr Finighan!
* yes, I know he's not really leaving them, but I don't get CNN at home[
What a shame that the BBC just can't recognise the really talented presenters in their newsrooms. It really serves them right for having the brilliant Mr Finighan suffer continual marginalisation on late, unsocial, weekend and through-the-night shifts. I wonder if he will continue as the voice of BBC World and as an occasional newsreader on BBC Radio 2.
I am sad to see Adrian leaving the BBC, but I shall now be switching my allegiance to CNN. Does anyone know what programming he will be presenting? Perhaps he is to be a replacement for the dreadful Max Foster, who hasn't really worked out at all on CNN. I cannot imagine the successful Becky Anderson and/or Fiounnula Sweeney being sidelined for Adrian, unless they will double header the late night output. Adrian would work well with Becky on screen. I look forward to seeing him on CNN.
It also means the reuniting of two greats - Quest and Finighan.

Is that the same Fionnuala Sweeney who presented the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993?
But, Mr. Finighan is an excellent deliverer of the news and may well just be worth switching over for.
I think that he and Becky Anderson would make an excellent on screen team!

But stopping watching BBC World because one presenter leaves? Good God, man! Why do you watch these channels - because of the news or because of the presenters and if it's the latter then bloody hell! Yes, presenters can make it more enjoyable but Adrian probably left because CNN offered him more money than the beeb - nothing else.
