Similar to CBSN, ABC NewsNow has launched on ROKU and other streaming sources. Like CBSN it features hosted content and live coverage throughout the day. This channel has already existed in some form previously. On my cable system it was channel that nestled between the other news channels and it disappeared and was only then existed online on ABCNEWS.com This channel features content from the ABC O&Os. A unique feature is that is has multiple live streams from various sources. Which I personally like. Also I beleive that is channel is NOT geo-locked.

Today they are stream live coverage from the former NFL football player Aaron Hernandez murder Trial, State Dept Briefing and the are carrying live coverage on the main and stream and a separate simulcast of coverage from Phoenix affiliate of a mass shooting in there. (I prefer the local coverage rather than national as they know the location better than a national anchor.) The graphics are basically clean and not too flashy. More sedate that the garbage that is WNT with David Muir and the set is basically a NYC Skyline backdrop. Havent seen the other channel exclusive programs. The channel also features programs/stories culled from other ABC News programs.

I think its good for the network news division to further monetize their news content. As there is greater take of streaming services and cord cutting (dropping cable/satelite tv), could these services be poised to further dilute the shrinking cable news audience.

This is not a new launch, not really, but a relaunch of the brand, with some new programming. There was an ABC News Now that was available in the US iin the early 2000s, and was streamed online as well for a while, as I remember. That had an extra hour of Good Morning America, the World News webcast at 3pm ET, and several exclusive programmes that were pretty well produced, plus News Briefs at the top and bottom of the hour.

I fully expect that MSNBC will soon start getting streamed online, without the cable registration requirement, and expect other services to follow suit too.
