And here we are in 2006, and he's still about! What an evil man.

It was Ryan who said it though. Blame Ryan. If Ryan hadn't have said that, Bin Laden would have been caught in November 2001. Ryan.

Aha! but is he? Do we really know for sure eh? He could be buried somewhere in the Tora bora mountains for all we know. How easy is to hook up a dialysis machine in a mountain?

Not at all. Actually, just click here and you should get the player. Note the streams are not domestic CNN streams but a separate web only news service.

It's a free day so will be online until 5am BST. Seems like a really good service. I like the smooth streams and the high quality.

Despite the fact the footage of the planes hitting the towers will never fail to shock, I think it was the attack and aftermath photos on MSNBC.com that brought back the most memories and moved me most. The still photograph still remains a very powerful medium.

Ah BBC World in its better days... what a shame its not like that anymore. I think I remember seeing the start of that bbc world video on tv on the night when I was in bed. I didnt think much of it and fell asleep... woke up and it was on every channel imaginable.

Interesting that it only spans 26 pages yet any mention of a new News set can span several hundred pages!

Indeed, and at the time we thought that was huge! The forum had only been open for just under 6 months and in those days we started new threads for practically everything, so 26 pages was massive!

I just had a quick look at that thread and it was interesting to see some of the old members who have since left the site. There are only a few of us left now from what I can see.

I was in Boston for the weekend and managed to see a few hours of US television before my flight home on 11th September. The main networks - CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX has coverage of the remembrance service at Ground Zero while CNN US had a different idea - they "re-lived" the attacks in real time. At each significant time the anchors would tell you what happened then and show some archive footage. In between this they conducted interviews with key people from the day - Andrew Card and the elementary school teacher who Bush was with were the main ones I saw. Some might say that CNN's coverage was inappropriate but I actually thought it was quite a unique angle and it worked well. After all, you could see the remembrance service on practically every other channel.
