Has anyone else noticed that on Sky, Fox News and NDTV, I.e. the channels on the News Pack on Sky, are all FTA at the moment?

Is this permanent, accidental or what?

Are you telling lies, because I don't have them free - and other people don't.

Sky, instead of having 5 or so main packs, now only have two. Entertainment and Entertainment Extra. Sky have moved people to one of those packs based on largely what they had before.

So not FTA, but just available to more people than before.

Can someone tell me about how the US television reacted to the 9/11 events in later days and weeks. I mean did they run normal prime time schedules, did they run popular tv shows and series, it was the start of a new season so how was it affected by 9/11?
What did cable channels do on that day, MTV, Cartoon Newtork and other entertainment/cartoon channels?

I think the special programme from London on BBC1 was very nicely done. Especially bringing back David Dimbleby as narrator.

I'm sure everything went back to normal the following Monday. Although with all the twists and turns that happened after that, I'm sure a lot of programmes would have been interrupted with Special Reports. I for one am glad BBC One or ITV 1 don't break into programme for every PM Cameron speeches he makes.

MTV and Cartoon Network both took CBS News rolling coverage which lasted 3 days or so.

The rolling coverage lasted most of the week I think, but it took a while longer for things to get back to normal with many new season lauches delayed, notably the first episode of 24 which had to be recut. I remember quite a big deal being made about the return of the late night talk shows and Saturday Night Live, it seemed at the time to be a big step to be able to start telling jokes on TV again.

Letterman didn't return until the following Monday, and even then had none of the usual opening titles and flashy opening. The main guest was the newsreader Dan Rather I think...

Thanks for that ASA. Interesting how it panned out on the site.
