I watched the 8.30 edition for the first time 2nite. From what people had said here I was expecting a dumned down version but it was more hard news if anything - at the start at least.

I thought the way they didn't use titles was very effective, it was straight into the story, not even a headlines or coming up slot.

One question for Londoners amongst us... during the bit about music sales, an interviewee was in a studio with a Big Ben backdrop. The lighting of Big Ben was slowly pulsating. Why? Does it always do that?

I haven't seen it since the first half of last week. What was the lead story tonight? What else did they cover?

Anyway - it's back to 7pm next week. Will they go back to the previous set, I wonder?

Lead story was the US shooting. They also did the baby MRSA, Jacko, and a few others.

Do you know the answer to my Big Ben question Londoner?

Can't say I've noticed any pulsating lights there before.
Of course a true London pedant will tell you that Big Ben is the bell and not the tower... Very Happy

I'm a regular viewer, it might just be me but I think they put more hard hitting news on this week, it seemed much better than last week's editions.

I noticed the pulsating light on Big Ben, don't know what that's all about.

Not been there myself but I suspect its something to do with the Olympic bid - they were projecting images etc. onto various famous London landmarks when the IOC delegation were here and may still be doing so.
