It’s actually explicitly labelled “Election 2020 with News and Exit Poll” on the Sky EPG. (Though it is not unusual for the Saturday evening news to air at a time other than 9.00pm exactly).

The Election Schedules are out!

Sunday 9th February
RTÉ One
9am-12am: Election 2020 coverage (with regular bulletins at One, Six One and Nine)

I wonder if we can expect BBC Parliament to pick up a simulcast, or if the C-SPAN programmes and regional politics show repeats are immoveable objects in the schedule?

BBC News / iPlayer took the RTE debate last night as a standalone stream - so there's a chance they may this weekend.

Colette Fitzpatrick is presenting the News at 8:00 tonight for their interview with Mary Lou McDonald. I think it’s the first time we’ve seen her do all bulletins in one day.

When does the so called "Moratorium" comes into effect with the Irish general election? I know on polling day here in the UK there is an end to election news and campaigning, and just quick glimpses of polling stations - but someone said in Ireland there is a longer period of time where RTE, Virgin Media etc can not speak about the general election, is this correct?

The Moratorium comes into effect at 2.00 pm on the day before the election. So that’s 2.00 pm this Friday. It lasts until the polls close at 10.00 pm on Saturday night. During this time TV and Radio stations cannot broadcast any party political material. During this time they can only broadcast stuff like reminders of polling times, guides to how to vote and updates on turnout.

Managing Director of RTÉ News gives details of exit poll...

Results Centre is also beginning to take shape. If you look closely at some of the monitors you can see the studio.

From that screen grap it looks like studio 5 will be used by David McCullagh for graphic presentations and commentary from the political experts.

As The Late Late Show is airing live on Friday night from Studio 4, we can now assume Studio 5 will be the home for the 2020 general election coverage on RTE probably linked to their revamped news Studio 3 right?

Interesting that it seems they are following a similar path the BBC did with their 2019 general election - downsizing to BBC Broadcasting House Studio B instead of their vast Studio D at BBC Elstree which they used in 2015 and 2017.

RTE's financial consideration also has to be taken into account, with a little bit of downsizing studios helps.
