Can someone explain to me why Fine Gael and Fianna Fail are ruling out any partnership with SF after the election results are in? This has been a constant view from the two parties in the news, and it seems SF are treated very badly by the Irish broadcasters - can the Irish not forgive their past and look forward to the future, as the DUP in Northern Ireland manage to (usually).
Independent candidate for the Tipperary constituency, Marese Skehan, has been found dead at her home in Thurles. RIP.
The constitution states that the nominations for Tipperary now be reopen, and the vote deferred. This means that the vote in the Tipperary constituency won’t be happening on Saturday, and voters in that constituency will go to the polls at a later date.
This also means that the Dáil probably won’t reconvene on the planned date of the 20th.
I was wondering if RTE do an exit poll similar to the BBC once the polls close?
Usually when people vote on a Friday it’s revealed on the Late Late show - but since polling day is a Saturday, it might just be the Sunday papers with one.
Yes RTE do. It used to be revealed the morning after the polls closed and before the counting began. The last time it was revealed soon after the polls closed. As far as I remember from the last time The Irish Times newspaper also ran an exit poll, the results of which were published immediately after the polls closed.
RTE News is scheduled for the unusual time of 9.40 to 10.20 on Saturday Night. The last Exit poll was revealed at 10pm on the Late Late Show. I would predict that's where it will be revealed.

Dancing with the Stars on RTE has been moved for one week to a Saturday, causing the schedules to be altered a bit.

I didn’t spot that. I think you’re probably right.
