Doesn’t take a GE for the RTE Player to struggle with demand, to be fair.

Election coverage now scheduled from 8:00am to 4:30pm tomorrow on RTÉ One, with a break for the One.

I've seen a graphic showing SF dominating the top votes of all the constituencies having their candidates elected in this election so far.

Michael Lowery is the only exception in it with him being an independent candidate.

RTÉ One just ended their coverage 50 minutes early.

RTÉ Radio 1 has also finished their coverage early though they are playing out some specialised music show rather than going to RTÉ Gold early .

ETA It seems why they are not with RTÉ Gold is so that they can play out ads ( normally ads are not allowed after midnight on RTÉ Radio 1 )

RTÉ One ended their coverage with a dedication to Keelin Shanley .

This was the first Irish election where RTÉ and VM coverage was in HD? I'm not entirely sure what TG4 did, but from watching Naucht, it seems to be HD in the studio with packages in SD along with astons.

The picture quality of the RTÉ coverage is excellent.

Election 2020 now running till 6:00pm. Though there’s still 26 seats left to fill.

Broadcasting oddity of the election: hearing Des Cahill report from a count centre on Radio 1 a while back.

I know it's on the RTÉ website, but I noted that the BBC News NI website was also streaming the RTÉ coverage here. I grabbed a few caps below for posterity.

RTÉ Player:

The BBC News feed (with added bugs):

Finally, do all RTÉ-made programmes have this licence fee endcap or is it just for news or something?

All home produced shows have this end cap as far as I know - Imagine BBC doing that for their shows

RTÉ certainly have a very nice news studio. Isn't it time NBH studio E was updated with an LED screen on the catwalk, rather than have to suffer the rather disjointed images we see on the three separate large screens?

Yes the RTÉ coverage went on for an hour extra today after finishing nearly an hour early last night.

Have to say RTE's coverage has been first class (and say that as an outsider who hasn't watched their election coverage before). Great use of social media.

Good thing there might be another election around the corner...Very Happy
