I daresay they'll simulcast RTE's coverage of the election.

Does that mean counting will take place on Sunday 9th February or will they delay counting until Monday 10th February?
The Irish are known for a slower pace in terms of getting their results, usually over a number of days before all Dail seats are declared, as the STV system is a slower progress.

No, it's usually a Thursday. The system of single transferable vote means that the count can continue through (and beyond) the weekend.
Edit: Presumably the count won't begin until Monday morning this time.

I expect full counting to take place on the Sunday into the Monday and possibly beyond. It’s inconceivable to me that they would until Monday to count. The Republic of Ireland has voted on Fridays for elections and referendums for many years now. The only exception was a children’s rights referendum which was held on a Saturday. I’d be surprised if BBC Parliament simulcast the results with RTÉ. I’m open to correction but I don’t think they’ve ever done that before. For those in the UK who are interested the full results coverage will be available to watch on the RTÉ Player online.

BBC Parliament carried RTÉ’s coverage last time round in 2016.

BBC Parliament did air RTE coverage of the 2011 election, I remember watching it.
