BBC North East & Cumbria looked rather tatty with their set. Seemed to be a big crease on the front of the desk covering.

Anyone else think the lighting on Question Time, particularly on David Cameron, looks a bit off tonight? Almost a cool/blue hue to it. (Also the text on the graphics isn't anti-aliased but that's a regular problem)

I don't think the lighting on Question Time is ever brilliant. However I think Cameron keeps coming off his mark which may be a factor.

This may be a defining trend of the 2015 election - the wandering around while gesticulating wildly and doing your best Wallace impression down the camera. Very Happy

Looks like there are operated follow spots for the key and fill lights, so the leaders should have freedom to move.

Lens flare in the titles - check.

Just watched it online. So much buffering on the UTV player! The titles look very 2002. You'd think they'd do something a bit more professional given that it was shown more widely.

Doesn't everything on UTV though look "very 2002"?

Yep - lighting and racking both a bit questionable to my eyes.

On a completely different subject regarding election coverage, I seem to remember reading somewhere that on one election night in the 80s (possibly 1987?) ITN had live images from Thatcher's car showing her as she arrived in Finchley etc. She had a curtain which she could place over the camera if she wanted privacy. Does anyone have anymore information on this?

There's a piece about that from the BBC's 1997 documentary about election night coverage, Swing Time. There isn't anything said about a curtain though.

Also does anyone know the track in the BBC Election Promo? It's on so often it's now stuck in my head.
