Al Jazeera English are reported to have offered a 'Cameron approved' debate with multiple leaders on board. Won't get anywhere but intriguing nevertheless.
Is all this just a clear example of the media's self interest from media and political correspondents, all saying how despite only debuting at the last election they've become so important etc. etc. etc.
I remain to be convinced they are - there was a novelty value last time round but that wore off pretty much after the first. I really think if they didn't happen at all the public wouldn't really notice - and certainly not be as fussed as the journalists about them. In the UK the election is the campaign - not the debates, and there is an argument that the 2010 debates actually in the long term highlighted that, so this time around people will pay more attention to the campaign as a whole, whether or not any televised debated are a part of that or not.

Could AJE's debate not form part of the wider offer on the table from the media outlets? With AJE's debate simulcasted on some channels?
On an aside - I also really like that logo. Its very simple, but very clever and it gets the message across.
The older circle design, where the proportions of each colour matched the proportions of each party in parliament, was cleverer.
Although I suspect that is one of the reasons it's gone, otherwise the wrath of the UKIP mob would have been complaining that it didn't include enough purple.
