Seems the after show with Emily Maitlis will also feature the DUP and Sinn Fein, in addition to the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats

I was wondering why Newsnight was going out on BBC1 NI tonight when I noticed it in the TV guide I saw which was just a listing of programmes

There was an NI leaders debate on it, which I presume was the reason it was moved to BBC One in NI? Very odd seeing it on BBC One, has that ever happened before?

It was also time shifted for 15 minutes since Newsline finished at 2245.

Interesting factoid re: viewing figures last night...

While it will obviously have attracted millions on BBC One, for the rolling news channels, it was a different story... with Sky News out-rating the BBC NC - 199k vs. 169k.

I switched from the News Channel to BBC One because of the bloody annoying worm covering half the screen. Being on Freeview, I still wanted to David Dimbleby in glorious high definition, so Sky News wasn't an option for me.

If Sky News didn't have a worm, then I'd imagine that's part of the reason you won over the News Channel.

Worth noting that because BBC News had the worm, they had a clean feed which meant we didn't get any of the captions or the end credits.

Why is it worth noting? Sky had a clean feed as well of last night's debate and were adding their own name tags after a while.
On the previous debate all the outlets, including British Muslim (Sky channel 845) had clean feeds.

More so for the lack of end credits than the lack of captions. Made the ending look awkward.

I know it's a BBC Debate but considering Sky and ITV were quite clear what debate would be on when and on what channel, the BBC were very generic in their announcements of upcoming programmes. Dimble advertised tonight's Question Time as '10:45 after the News' and the post-debate coverage, that will only be on the BBC. He also mentioned the Question Time special in a few weeks - will just the BBC air that or will Sky simulcast that too?

Viewers aren't idiots.

Plans for the Question Time special in Leeds. Farage, Sturgeon and Wood are now getting their own spin offs.

It seems that Farage's inclusion is something of a last minute thing following his criticism of the audience make up last week.

The audience was supposed to be representative of the UK population, it seems to me that the figures quoted by some of the papers reflect the poll of Polls pretty well.

That said, I'd quite like to see a proper Question Time with Cameron, Clegg, Miliband and Farage on together rather than these individual q&a sessions in which whoever goes last has a great advantage in that they can respond to claims made by the other two, but they can't respond.
