Also, I note that tonight's programme was credited to "ITV News and Current Affairs", not ITN.

I think it was the same in 2010

Just watched the end of it again - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk5HvJmy_yg - it was credited to ITV Studios.

I know nobody will be watching it but I'm finding The Agenda quite fresh and on point tonight. Question Time just seems a bit dated and 'same old same old' this week after the leaders debate.

When ITV keep placing Political programming (first the Regional programming and now The Agenda) against the BBC's more well known and respected offering then what can they expect? It's bad enough with the News programmes clashing...Watching 'The Agenda' myself on ITV + 1...Btw I do actually agree with you that 'The Agenda' seems a fresher programme.

Agenda goes out on Mondays, and for the next few weeks on Wednesday aswell. The reason it went out tonight was because the debate was tonight. Wink

I am sure Tom signed off saying it will be on next Thursday...

ITV's election graphics have been superior to the BBC for a while now.

It seems it was being produced by Shiver.

"ITV News and Current Affairs" appears at the end of some editions of Tonight but I'm not sure if that's the ITN made ones or the ITV Studios made ones or both.

Thus if that is the case it will have been changed.

Firstly it gives viewers choice and secondly these are PSB commitments from ITV, not ratings grabbers, so they're not in it for a ratings windfall.

There is the argument that with television as a whole viewers would actually have more choice overall if the BBC and ITV scheduled like for like programmes against each other more often than not.

Though I guess in this technology filled world it doesn't matter so much these days, with people being able to catch up on viewing in a variety of ways. Smile

Well it turns out The Agenda was in London and Question Time was at a nearby school, so Mediacity wasn't as busy as originally thought.

At the end of current affairs programmes produced by ITN, the phrase "a production for ITV News and Current Affairs" appears on the end board with ITN mentioned in smaller font at the bottom of the screen.

It's possible that, all the same, ITV News at Ten and The Agenda got modestly substantial numbers of viewers, given that they were preceded by the leaders' debate, for which ITV probably got a higher number of viewers than what BBC News and Sky News got for their simulcasts, given that ITV is the most prominent commercial PSB on the EPGs.
