If there had been any doubt about the location of ITV's election debate, David Dimbleby confirmed it the end of tonight's Question Time. Next week's QT will take place in Salford, where the politicians will be, according to Dimbleby, hot-footing it from the debate spin room.

Yes, I'm not sure why the location of the ITV debate has been kept so quiet (until now). I had assumed it was something to do with media outlets not normally reporting Cameron, Clegg & Miliband's movements in advance for security reasons ... but obviously not.

I thought it strange that they didn't do the interview and questions in the same order.

I thought Sky/C4 did a decent job.

If all the DS lot can do is bash Kay for the ITV1 mention, then she did well.

It's not as if the caption shown didn't say ITV1 - sounds like that was what was scripted rather than anything to criticise her for personally.

It was implied that it was each candidate's choice which way round to do things.

Alright, thanks. Must have missed that.

I watched on C4 - did Sky use their own graphics? As the ones on C4 were in the corporate font and seemed to be based on the old 10 O'Clock Live graphics. I imagined that Sky were using their own packages to go into and out of breaks, too - was I right?

C4 graphics on Sky.

Actually, Sky graphics on both channels...Sky produced the whole thing...the graphics just used the C4 corporate font.

Thanks for the clarification - I was overcomplicating things the way I imagined it. Very much C4-driven in terms of the look, but makes sense that Sky had the creative control.

The theme/titles seemed very Sky to me, along with the helicopter shots of the studio building

I didn't really see the point in the helicopter shots, obviously they were being used as some sort of filler but the building isn't at all recognisable. If they'd held it somewhere that was instantly recognisable to viewers then it would have more of a point but there isn't anything special looking about the Sky centre so it just seemed a bit odd.

Sky are proud of their Harlequin One building, and wanted to make it more of an event...

I think everyone watching would have realised it was the place where it was being recorded, and if they have access to the copter then why not? If they were doing it every night for the TOTH or something, I'd agree, but I didn't mind it in this case.
