THAT never lasted 24 hours, Sky news has a new promo on the books.

The new promo featuring the 'Decision Time' music. I forgot just how mood building that music is.

What do you know, the first promos HAS been kept after all, so sky has two promos running now. Very Happy

It's only become an opposition debate at the request of David Cameron who reportedly asked for Clegg to be excluded so he wasn't the only leader absent. It's disgraceful that the BBC agreed to it.

To be honest I'm shocked any of the debates are going ahead at all. Surprised I personally feel it needs to be made law that the leaders appear on these debates to face the music...

Bit of a ludicrous suggestion really. How can and why should anyone predict who should be legally obliged to turn up to a debate? Who's to say in five years time the main two parties are still the Conservatives and Labour?

The leaders could be made to sign a couple of months before the end of their spell in Government/Opposition. Though nothing is definite in life, the Tories and Labour have been the main two parties for a long time now.

Better than the farce that has happened this time around...

ITV have started airing a trailer for the debate with Julie Etchingham. Not sure what studio she was in though, with the green seats it looked like she was at Wimbledon!

Have Channel 4 had to reschedule the Coalition Drama... I'm sure I saw it being trailed for 9pm on Thursday before the announcement of these debates. Coalition is now on Saturday at 9.

Details of the ITV Leaders' Debate announced

The First Election Debate on ITV in 2010 made broadcasting history, and was the most watched factual programme of any kind during that year, with more than nine million viewers throughout its 90-minute duration.

This year on April 2nd at 8pm, Julie Etchingham will host and moderate the first leaders’ debate of the 2015 General Election campaign. It will feature seven party leaders - David Cameron, Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg, Nigel Farage, Nicola Sturgeon, Natalie Bennett and Leanne Wood - in The ITV Leaders’ Debate.

During the two-hour live debate, leaders will have the opportunity to address questions posed by the studio audience. The leaders' will not see these questions in advance of the debate.

The format will allow each leader to give an uninterrupted answer to a question and then would open up the debate to a moderated discussion between the leaders, for up to around 17 to 18 minutes on each question.

The studio audience selected will be demographically representative of the country as a whole and politically balanced.

ITV will ask the selected audience for their questions, as well as ITV viewers, who have been asked to submit questions via debate@itv.com

Studio audience questions and viewer questions will be seen by an experienced editorial selection panel, who will decide which questions go forward to the debate on the night. If viewers' questions are chosen, these viewers will be invited to be a part of the audience at the debate on April 2nd.

The debate will be produced by ITV Studios, and the location will, as in 2010, be confirmed closer to transmission.

The ITV Leaders' Debate will give viewers the opportunity to see party leaders engaging in debate on significant issues, ahead of what is on course to be the most tightly contested election in recent memory.

I do like the thought of people tuning in and getting rather confused. OFCOM will probably get complaints they're portraying David Cameron as a slimy lying git!
