ZDF Spezial Mock

In 2001, I was on a trip to Germany when the 9/11 attacks happened, so I had to watch a lot of German coverage.
Some weeks ago, I came across some Youtube clips of ZDF’s (one of Germany’s public broadcasters) special programme and remembered its memorable titles and theme tune from that time.

That’s the very short story behind this attempt to recreate the “ZDF spezial” titles (the design I tried to mock was in use from 2001 – 2009).
There are some details that I’ve changed on purpose and other details my After Effects skills didn’t allow me to get right.

The original titles can be seen in this clip at the 30:40 mark .

Everything was created in Photoshop and AfterEffects CC whereas the original titles were created using a 3D software.

Kudos! To be honest if you hadn't have shown us the original clip I thought it was the real thing. (even though you mentioned 'mock' in the video, but you get the idea...)

I'm sorry, I like this but what's the difference between the 2 globe videos?

Some minor changes: the globe is spinning faster, I added some “flashes” moving around and I tried to make the globe look more three-dimensional. and the YouTube video is HD
