A recreation of the Central Cake ident, 1986 - 1998.

Spot-on! What software did you use?

Thanks Smile All done in Photoshop. I've just updated the pic source, I found some more screengrabs of the original ident and realised I'd made the colours too vibrant, and a couple of the angles were a bit off so I've corrected those as well.

This is sweet, really well made. Any chance of attempts at the idents?

Any chance of a larger version for desktop wallpaper? That looks fantastic.

Not bad, but if I was to nit-pick, the font looks a bit too bold - maybe try a lighter weight...

Also the coloured blocks could benefit from a bit of a 'sheen' effect, rather than solid colour - although to be fair the cake did vary over the years, and early incarnations were a bit more basic.

I think that's just a poor screencap, the text appears to be bold in this one:

'Medium' was the only version of the font I could get anyway.

I tried adding a sheen to the blocks but it looked really fake, so I decided it's better off without one.

isn't the font in your screencap 3D? Maybe that's got something to do with it looking a tad off.

Under further investigation, I've determined that the mock is tinted a bit too blue. It needs to be more pink.

What you should have done is made an inner bevel to about 5px edge width to add the shine effect ((Sorry to dig up old threads))

There was a bevel but it doesn't really show up now that I've reduced the overall size of the image. I also later found out that Spencer was right - the font used on screen wasn't bold, but I can't find the regular version anywhere (even to buy).

Nicely done, but what would be great would be to see how the logo might have developed since the late-90s if it hadn't been so cruelly axed.
