Super Channel

If you've ever had a satellite dish in 1987 (let's be honest, who did back then?) then you've probably remembered Super Channel. It was a network owned by a deal between the ITV regional companies and Virgin Group, who had previously ran Music Box. Thames was not one of them.

Anyway, I made this as a tribute to the old network as I was meaning to do this mock for a little while. I just didn't have the time to do it.

I changed the logo a little bit by changing the font to a identical font to the old Super Channel logo (DIN Alternative) and I re-used the old soundtrack they used in the old Super Channel era.



I'm quite happy with the end result but I might make more idents/promo endboards so that I am happy with how it is.

I used some of the ITV programs because if it existed today, this is more likely what would air.

That coming up board needs rethinking.

Yeah, I'm probably going to improve that later.

I'm not trying to sound like a snooty arsehole, but if you knew it needed improving, wouldn't it have been better to hold back from posting it until you were happy with it?

And this is the difference between you getting a 4 or even a 5 star score as opposed to a 2 or 1 in this forum. That coming up board makes all the difference. Your comment of "I'm quite happy" suggests you know there's something not right somewhere in this package and I think you've picked up that it's that board that's dragging your score down.

Maybe with all due respect it would be better not to post something until you're "completely" happy as opposed to "quite" happy. You get feedback like Larry's for a reason, plus we're not all total monsters in here.

I decided to go back to the drawing boards and make a better ECP.

You need to frame the pictures properly otherwise it just looks odd (especially that Rugby one). Look at how you've done the Rovers Return one and either alter the others to be cropped similarly OR replace them with alternatives that can be cropped properly to fit the available space.

If you can't find any picture that is suitable it may mean the look you've gone for isn't particularly flexible.

Another problem being that all three corners of text have different spacings from the side frames.

That's not an ECP ( End Credit Promotion ), more like a Full Frame Menu. Where is the credit squeeze?

This is half finished and needs a rethink.
