Ok so I've been working on an idea for STV's overnight programme, The Nightshift.
Since the show launched in 2010 is hasn't really been updated. The onscreen graphics were changed slightly last year but at that they didn't look much different. The look I have chosen is to try and reflect the current STV branding. Here is what I've got so far:
Nice start, I really like the astons as they do remind me of the diamond styling but also is unique when compared to the news astons.
Have you got the font, or a similar one to, the actual STV one - makes it more inline?
The nightshift uses purple quite prominently why not use purple where you have gone blue? It would allow the show to stay inline with the STV rebrand whilst remaining its own identity.

I appreciate the comments but the whole point of this look was to step away from the purple look and to reflect STV's branding. I may incorporate Orange into the mix. A similar colour to which STV use. I'll see how it goes.
If I am honest I'm not a fan of the orange. When you had said you were going to look into using orange I had imagined it replacing the blue slides in places.
I'm not entirely too sure where you should go with this. I'm all for supporting change, even if it isn't necessary, but for a programme like the nightshift there isn't a huge demand to have this brilliant on-screen graphics because, in the most basic or reasons, it doesn't matter.
I think the white was ok - better than the orange - what I would like to see is some examples of how this would animate on screen. Also, if the show was to "relaunch" how about incorporating Twitter? I don't know if I'm alone but I feel your more likely to have people get involved if you had the option of tweeting in.
Whatever you chose to do next with this mock, the best of luck.
