Good Morning Britain (Rebrand + Lorraine & Week

Hi,

This time I've had a go at redesigning the Good Morning Britain graphics rather than recreating.

For this mock I have:
*Gone back to 14:9 graphics
*Reverted to 2014 music (2015 will pop up later on!)
*Still retained ITV Reem typeface

Also I have noticed a few things myself which I will correct in the next upload:
*Clock disappearing and re-appearing for about a 1/10 of a second, on a couple of occasions.
*On the Top Story graphic the bottom text jumps back and forth
Both of these are my fault.

Also, Some graphics haven't been made yet but I feel as if I have enough to show to you at the moment,
Other graphics which I will include next time hopefully:
*Name graphic(s)
*Wipes/Transitions for Top Story, Breaking News, etc.
*Regional News layout
*Weather bug possibly
*?Sport Updates in Ticker?



Also, later to come will be a Lorraine and Weekend mock to go with GMB (Aaron_2015 is alright with me using his Weekend idea to tie in with GMB and Lorraine)

And finally, I am fine with the idea of having a Poor rating on this, but if possible could you tell me why and I can improve on that (Also just noticed my Logo looks a bit like HarryBNF's Sky News-y one )

I'm not a fan of the boxy logo, and the clock isn't in the best of places, but the rest is excellent. The opening titles are great, the transitions are very slick. I'd suggest adding something to the grey swipe between stories, it looks a little plain.

Improvements I'd suggest:
- Move clock to the end of the ticker (bottom left)
- Move the logo out of the way, remove it if necessary
- Do everything you've already suggested

The original idea was to have the clock at the end of the ticker, but then when it came to making it I put it there instead without thinking

The grey (it was actually white, but that might be down to the chroma-keying) wipe was just a quick idea as it ties in but I could do something like my other mocks with Good Morning Britain Logo wipe like the 'LIVE' wipe

The only thing I want to stay clear of is using 'GMB' I feel like now that is all they ever say (apart from when greeting us to the programme) and if I stacked

it would look too much like the now logo and that's not what I would like. But I did send you the pic with the different logos so you can see how I want to keep the consistency between them ( )

I like the box look personally although agree about the clock.

I think any graphics update would be very welcome to Good Morning Britain, even if they just brought the weather bug back!

Has anyone tried doing Good Morning Britain but tried brining it in line with the national ITV News graphic look?

From 1:15 onwards, the 4 lines of astons and the total gap to the right of the clock *shudders*.

It's simple, far too simple.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think so but someone did a video improving the April 2015 graphics and showing how they could tie in with ITV News



And then there was that person who tried the If ITN produce Good Morning Britain or something like that

How could I improve it to make it less simple

The 'shudder' could possibly be down to the fact that I chroma-key in black, not green. (I don't know whether this is he general rule) but if I have A green screen and I have say cyan in front when I chroma key it will take all the Green out of the cyan and leave dark blue

Why do you keep on apologising every time you upload a series of mocks? Seeing that, you immediately get the impression before you've even clicked on the link that it is going to be an incomplete mess (which it isn't in this case, but still a poor way to advertise it to potential readers).

I say sorry because I think (and I also think some one said it) they were getting tired of seeing Good Morning Britain mocks, so I think that applies to a few people so that is why I say sorry but I can remove it if you want

Not bad, but, as ETP1 said, don't apologize for posting a mock, as it gives off a very bad impression (even if it is a GMB mock)

Three stars, again I'm not sure that a boxy logo with those ITV circles (beacons?) is working. The astons are very nice though

I replied to a comment on YouTube about this
I said that I feel as if now we know what Good Morning Britain completely looks like we now have an image that the logo/graphics have a circular feel and that transfers to all the mocks. All I'm saying is that I picked squares/rectangles as I wanted something different but still retains that Good Morning Britain feel that we're used to.

That is why I used the beacon in opening titles

Will people *please* stop posting video mocks that you've spent your Saturday afternoon on.

Again, there are loads of obvious issues, which if you'd spent some time doing stills of you'd have picked up on straight away, without having to worry about misunderstanding chroma keying, mangling your animations and having to find ropey footage to use as backgrounds.

At one point I count seven different font sizes in use at the same time. Your padding around text is all over the place. The general layout with the clock (as you admit) doesn't work. Why is half the stuff right aligned, but the rest left aligned? And to top it all, it just looks like a bad implementation of the BBC News design rather than something original.

There could be a good design tucked away here, but because you (and others) have chosen to spend all your time faffing around trying to animate it rather than actually design it, we'll never know.
