I like the idea On Sky.
I would ditch the pic of Jo Wheelan next to Sky Weather and just have a City and Temperature and weather logo looping - something like on Sunrise but in that box area you have there. I would also ensure the clock was used so that for example, 17:38 was seen underneath the weather summary box?
I think going down the route of CNN US may be a good idea for Sky News though - they have varied programmes and it is always easy to identify what you are watching on CNN.
However, US new channels do not have News, Sport and Weather slots - they have named programmes on their channels.
I would definitely say that the Live at 5 logo is a good idea though!
