Sky News Ident Recreation

Hello guys.

This is my first mock creation for a TV Channel. I have recreated the Sky News Ident, but using the new background seen on the newswall. I have also created a similar version, albeit with a dark background.

Not so sure about the Sky bit.

That wouldn't be that white all of the time, as it would be animating, so the shine goes across the logo.

Love them, do you not have them any bigger?

Yes I can do them bigger. What size are you looking at?

Maybe dektop wallpaper size or a bit smaller than that...just a bigger version?

What software did you use? How did you get the shine effect?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Absolutely brilliant so far.

The shine effect was added in photoshop, under bevel, and i tweaked all the settings. Started with the original flat logo though.

I do like the idea of having a 'daytime' and 'nighttime' version - and the dark variant there comes across really well. These also look a bit classier than what Sky News currently has - they demonstrate a greater attention to detail. Excellent work.

thanks. it wasn't intended as a daytime/nightime version though. perhaps the lighter one would be used in the main toth and darker one in news active stings or something like that.
