might have become a back burner project so to speak as Daniel hasn't been on the forum since August last year.
Here's similar graphics in inverted colours but not sure where this fits in? Presumably since it now has a permanent P&P details its a later revision/adaption.

It's just a looped version of the theme used at the time with the cartoon gavel. Could get a bit irritating after a while so the bongos were a marked improvement.
Also this was the era right at the beginning where Paul Ross and BBC Points West's Alex Lovell were hosts (though Ross returned for a very brief stint a few years later).
And who remembers when Cheryl Baker hosted for a short while on price-drop.tv?
Also There's another piece of music before bob's bongo's!

I'm not sure whether it was an actual loop of any of the idents - I haven't been able to find a perfect match to loop. It's definitely very closely based on the idents though. It got annoying just in the little clips I've watched!

It was the era where most of the Auction World faces were on bid-up.tv - Alex Lovell, Anoushka Williams, Paul Weedon, Sophia Rafaat and many more, I'm sure.
Cheryl Baker had the Monday afternoon shift for a few months, I seem to remember. I can't find the interview anymore, but one of the papers ran a piece where she slated the whole thing, stating that she hated every single moment of her time there.
I think Paul Ross did two or three different stints at sit-up. I think he did some Screenshop, as well as bid. He had a film night strand which lasted a few weeks, and then did the odd shift here and there. It always seemed like he *needed* a fuss to be made around him in order to be a presenter there, though.

When did bid-up appear on NTL? Google searching that has bought nothing up.
I believe the wooden set was introduced in 2001, along with the music and graphics. That's just from memory though. The only thing that's certain is that the set, graphics and music changed at some point in between the launch on Sky and the launch on NTL.

From what I've been able to dig out, the launch date for a cable service - I don't know whether it was NTL or Telewest - was November 1st 2001. By that time, they were using the wooden effect set with the orange and yellow graphics and Bob's Bongos.

Which version are you trying to install? I've just tried the Windows version and it seems to install fine.
There *might* be a problem caused by Windows' new protected folders but I'm not 100% sure.
Files for this are corrupted. Every time I try and download a new one, it continuously keeps saying the files are corrupted. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem on my old computer. It involved the file's download failing about halfway through, and being left with half a file. When trying to open, it gave me the same message as you. How big is the file you're trying to run?
I don't have the problem now, but this is on a different computer and a different ISP. Not sure about what caused it.

Errors about corrupt files are usually anti-virus related. Temporarily disable any anti-virus you have installed,, it may be a false positive.
The download is 170Mb, I've tested the original link DanielC posted and it still works fine.
