Cool, good to know. Yeah I can see why they ended up switching to falling price for all channels - seems like the switch to Best Bidding would reduce their profits a fair bit.

The Best Bidding format I found quite odd. Why would everyone want to end up paying the same price as everyone else in a rising price auction?

I would imagine there was complaints from customers about why people would have to pay different prices for the same product. And I imagine the regulators wouldn't have been too keen on it either.

Though I guess if customers named their price, they shouldn't have been too hacked off if they ended up paying that price for it.

Not too sure, sorry. Modelling is done on the old bid-up set, just needs texturing and rendering now. Then on to the final drop and speed sets. Don't have an estimate on when that'll be done, still haven't really had much time to work on it the past few weeks.

Good to hear the final sets are being included, I quite liked those.

Thought I'd post a work-in-progress shot of what I've been working on this evening.

Been quite a tricky one to put together as there isn't an awful lot of high-res reference shots out there. Still got a few texture and model tweaks to make, but I think it's getting there. Hoping to get this one finished today, then can make a start on one of the others this weekend.

Another thing I forgot about is the revised particle effects for the final arrow graphics (different coins, megadrop explosion etc.) so might be a little while before it's ready.

I'd say that's pretty accurate Daniel. Can't wait to see the new sets fully textured and rendered.

The block panels behind the podium didn't have a texture at all just opaque perspex (could have also been a type of lighting paper too I guess) with a light behind.

The only other thing that appears to be missing from that screen shot is the odd light between the zig zag panels on the left of the screen shot below:

Does anyone remember the closing credits bid-up.tv used to have with the blue graphics? It was accompanied with the 2003 music at closedown.
