Hmm, looks nice. Not sure about the screen placement though, looks odd with it just being there. Black floor looks too dark in my opinion.

This is fine. 4 stars.

It's good but I think it could be better. It looks much more like a combination of 2008 News at Ten and the shoebox from BBC News' N6, even down to the lightboxes above the desk. I was never a fan of that design.

It might look a bit better with some more furniture. Pillars to mask the corners and reinstate some sort of structure to hold up the plasma so it's not floating?

While I like this idea... I feel that it brings the 'London centric' theme back

It's a news programme famous for its sequences featuring London's Big Ben, with headlines read out alongside Big Ben's Bongs... we could perhaps forgive News at Ten for looking London based?

Thanks Chris. Yes it does have hints of N6 although my lightboxes were based on the ones used in the 2015 election set:
ITV News: Election Result Coverage - 2015 (TV Live)

My thinking on pillars is that it's too reminiscent of ITV News London, and I'm not sure I like the way they've implemented the window on the world with the virtual set. But I will try out the idea and upload a new version shortly. Will look at the black floor and plasma

Thanks for your sterling comments. Very much appreciated. Smile

I'll continue to develop the idea and look at the desk, platform etc. I do like Brekkie's idea of breaking the clock into squares for the backdrop - nice idea, not sure I can do it justice but I will try!

For now I just wanted to share a tiny update with the clockface in white/silver rather than blue. Do excuse the shoddy camera work. The quality isn't great so I will have another look at my render settings - it's *slightly* better if viewed in HD on Vimeo.

Thanks for that Nicky - do think it certainly looks more on brand with the silver/white than the blue, though agree with Chris a bit more furniture would improve things, or at least something more interesting going on with the floor. Difficult to get the panoramic view right in a square studio too - I guess that's why the BBC used a more abstract version with their initial look.

On the whole though one of my favourite designs posted here in a long time.

I really love this still.

I would say smidges of navy blue throughout would be good, but keeping the black theme. Maybe the top tapering on the wall (currently in white) or part of the desk would be good in dark blue.

Also think the floor could be shinier/more reflective?

But like Brekkie said, it's certainly my favourite design on here in ages.

A further update - I have taken the basic design as used for the bulletins, but the skyline is in place of the newsroom backdrop. This is still very much in progress so do excuse the blank grey platform underneath the desk. Have been playing around with patterns and textures other than the wood but have not quite settled on one yet.

Unbelievably amazing. Probably my favourite mock here I've ever seen, and that's not an exaggeration.

I think it's the mock many people here wanted to do themselves. As I've said before I love the title board you are using on the graphics - that is a superb way of giving the show it's own identity but also remaining firmly on brand.

My only criticism is that I think you have to think a bit about how the Big Ben backdrop looks in presenter shots - Julie looks to have been caught in some sort of web! I think it probably needs to look a bit more subtle in the close up shots, and perhaps appear to be further back. Or to contradict myself perhaps be more obviously the clock - looking at the 2008 set in every shot it was obvious what the backdrop was, as it is in the Tom shot.
