While I like this idea... I feel that it brings the 'London centric' theme back. Try the clock, but in white over the background they have now?? It's subtle but sticks with the ITV News brand.

My first reaction was mmmm pretty.
The 'real' desk and podium are the weakest parts of this. It would perhaps look more realistic if the lighting was less perfect, but otherwise a good virtual studio.
I dont have any issue with it being 'london centric' - also the clock background is perfect.
Great start. I'd like to see more before i rate.

I absolutely love this, Nicky. I really would love News at Ten to take this look on - keeping the current studio and bringing the London skyline and clock face back.
Really amazing to me as a concept I would love to see on screen. You've beautifully integrated the current ITV News look with the amazing 2008 News at Ten skyline theme we had for such a short time before the carpark era. You've really masterfully integrated those two looks.
I'd love to see more too but even if you don't do more, these are some of my favourite mocks I've seen on here in ages.
Well done!!!

A Mix between 2008 and present. Good start, but improvements to the desk and News at Ten title screen are required.

I think the desk needs greatly improving, as does the chair - It looks a bit too 'blocky'. I agree with ditching the wood for the raiser. I would also suggest making the floor a little less reflective. It just needs to look a little more, real - which it has great potential of doing!

Thanks for your sterling comments. Very much appreciated.
I'll continue to develop the idea and look at the desk, platform etc. I do like Brekkie's idea of breaking the clock into squares for the backdrop - nice idea, not sure I can do it justice but I will try!
For now I just wanted to share a tiny update with the clockface in white/silver rather than blue. Do excuse the shoddy camera work. The quality isn't great so I will have another look at my render settings - it's *slightly* better if viewed in HD on Vimeo.
EDIT : a few stills of the studio
