After looking at the image, I realised that the reflection was more jarring than it first appeared. I've toned it down a bit, and moved it closer to the Talkback.
I have to admit that the font does look a little odd, but it looks a bit cleaner when smaller. It may also be due to the way I've kerned the lettering.

I like this version, much better and cleaner. Wouldn't be surprised if they'd used it...

So whats the brief then... "Talkback needs a new logo" ...okay great, what sort of logo... "eerrm, a nice one" ...okay helpful, what does your company do?... "we make tv shows" ...okay, what makes you stand out from other companies that make tv shows?... "we make good tv shows" ...what do people think about when they see programmes made by your company?... "awesome"
....yeaah, you should probably visit this site before you carry on...
SomeVeryGoodInfoOnLogos 'n' stuff...
...because there really is no point in doing a mock logo unless you have thought about it, and this logo smacks of lazyness.

It's more of a humorous nod to the Thames reflection, as in this design it isn't actually reflecting what is above. There is little else that I think of to give the logo any meaning or basis.

I do know a bit about logo design - I know that you can't convey the idiosyncrasies of a particular company's position in the market in a simple and effective word mark. Companies and groups who want to reflect their manifold operations in their logo leads to abominations such as the newest National Grid logo replacing their classic previous one.
While I can't say the mock is the epitome of logo design perfection, something Paul Rand would be proud of, and a design classic, what I can say is that as I am not working to a design brief set out by Fremantle Media, and I don't design logos for a living, I can't guess what they would want. I have to imagine that they would want something similar to what they have - text - and would want something that is recognisable.
If they give any of the four TalkbackTHAMES companies a mirror logo, it would be Thames. Talkback should use a different motif, sorry.

Whilst I don't agree, I certainly wouldn't have Thames in lowercase. Talkback has always been lowercase or title case, and Thames (as far as I know) has always been capitalised. In your example it looks as if the reflection is more of a shadow.
I disagree with you on the reflection point simply because when the logo is animated (as is the case with the current talkbackTHAMES logo) the reflection on the Talkback logo could be animated with some sort of time delay to differentiate it from the more traditional Thames reflection. It also provides a link between the brands that could extend to the other two in some manner.
