Don't these large plasma screens require a lot of space behind them, or is it considerably less than the old Barco screens?
I don't think the large plasmas need much room, the left one on the walkway in Studios E and C almost back on to the wall, the Barcos I think needed rear access for things like bulb changing and ventilation.
Looks so much better even if in reality we're kind of only circling the square, but the choice and position of the sofa make it feel so much bigger. I think that is quite a realistic revamp too.
Thanks, I was trying to make it a realistic revamp taking into account budgetary limitations - that's the one issue with BBC set mocks. I've taken influences manly from Glasgow and Cardiff which is what I imagine a future set in Belfast will look like as well.
I was watching breakfast a few weeks ago thinking about the sofa positioned as above could look better. Would it be tight for the cameras though?
Actually this set up would probably give more room for cameras as currently they are pretty much backed against the wall, here they've got the central area to move around in.
