2 questions:

1) Where is it?

2) When does half term end?

That's the image I made! That's the mock!

I find it hilarious that you put your watermark on it... as if anyone would want to steal this and claim it as their own.

It's... rubbish for lack of a better (and non-swear) word.

Different sized fonts, irregular spacing, bland colour/design, a made up logo and not the official channel logo. You made this in less than 5 minutes and it shows.

Could you really expect to see this on TV? It’s bland, and looks like it was made in MS Paint in 2 minutes.

1/5, no effort.

1) It's his first post so give him the benefit of the doubt. I still find using metropol and posting images on this site to be a bit of a nightmare.
2) I wish this ageist attitude from some members on here would stop. There is nothing wrong with new people discovering the site and wanting to offer their ideas. You were young once too.

I agree with other members that this is a poorly executed mock with the inconsistencies in font size etc. and it isn't exactly inspiring to look at either.

You need to spend more than 30 seconds on a mock to even be in with a chance of getting more than 1 star / not being ridiculed by everyone on this site.

I've literally just spent less than 10 minutes making this version of your mock, including the time to find the images and load my tools up, and yeah, it's a bit dull, but at least there's some visual interest, and an attempt at lining things up in a consistent manner.

It's always being pointed out, but as a new mocker I'll let you off for not knowing RULE #1 - Can you see it being used on TV - that doesn't mean it needs to be perfect, but it does mean you need to make it look more interesting than a screenshot of a word document.

Not really too convinced, I think you need to develop the idea into something a bit more than what you've got at the moment. While I'm a great fan of keeping things simple with designs, I think dosxuk's mock above gives a fantastic idea at what you should perhaps be aiming for - perhaps try recreating something similar?

To develop your idea, I'd perhaps look at adding some sort of background image or pattern - pick a simple one though so that you can still clearly see the 'BBC Scotland' text. I'd also have a look at the positioning of the channel details and avoid having text too close around the outside of the screen.

Don't be too disheartened by some of the feedback, just take on some of the advice that's been given and I'm sure you will be able to improve this quite considerably Very Happy

At the moment, unfortunately, it looks more like a PowerPoint slide rather than something that would be on a national television channel and as a result - 1/5 for now.

I personally don't think that age has anything to do with ability - something a 15-year-old could produce is sometimes easily better than something a 40-year-old could produce and don't really feel that this type of comment really contributes anything.
