For a while I've been working on a couple of different ideas for mocks but I hadn't quite polished it up properly - or I just wasn't sure whether it was worth putting up at all. Now that the forum's closing, I figured I wouldn't really have anything to lose by posting the bits and pieces that I'd been working on.
So the first of these is 5Edge:
This would be a rebranded Paramount Network/5Spike channel that leans heavily into that Bravo audience. I'd considered a few other names for the channel like 5Max, but I figured that was too similar to DMAX, so I went with 5Edge. I tried a couple of colour ways but the navy/indigo seemed to fit the channel the best.
Immediately I knew I wanted the presentation style and 'voice' of the channel to be a bit brash but down to earth and relatable to a wide male audience.
Promos for the channel would feature the 'edge' motif and programme titles that popped out of it, with a slightly cheeky block caption. No Channel 4 logos were harmed in the making of this mock.
This idea was probably my most solid non-Chart Show idea and though it's not the most groundbreaking thing out there, it's something that I feel fits in with the rest of the Channel 5 portfolio. It also happens to be the most complete looking out of the bits and pieces I had, perhaps the safer option.
The riskier option was this one:

Yes, at one point I was planning a BBC One mock. This one had been in development hell for a while and I didn't think it was particularly strong enough to be released, but at this point I may as well have a little fun and put out the idea anyway.
The logo is pretty standard but I always liked the idea of the numeral 1's serif being incorporated into the typeface. It's there but it's subtle enough that it's not screaming at you. With this rebranding I had an idea for the idents - I played with the balloon idea but instead of one giant globe-shaped balloon, I opted for the symbol for the new BBC One to be a bevy of smaller red balloons that would pop up in different quantities depending on the ident. Balloons would float over cheering sports fans in a stadium, they'd fill the dancefloor of a wedding reception, they'd settle in birds nests and carry old men on armchairs.... all with the logo appearing in the second half of the ident. I had a lot of different ideas for idents but I made some very rough mock-ups of two of them.
WARNING: the following images include some very shoddy GIMP work and mostly just illustrate the idea of what the idents would include.

The first mock-up I made was of one of the more sombre idents. A single red balloon floats through an abandoned power station as a piano jingle plays.

The second would be the news ident with a more orchestral 'newsy' version of the jingle. The balloons would float over a city skyline, depending on where the news was filmed. There's even potential to do specific regional idents.
(Both of these two idents being the news/sombre idents would have variations without the balloons for even more sombre events like times of mourning.)
Obviously they wouldn't look like this as these images are... pretty terrible, but hopefully this gives you a vague idea of what they would look like. It's a more distinct symbol and provides a central colour to the idents and to the channel.

I also had a quick go at a few other BBC logos. I shifted Two to a lighter seafoam blue and gave Four a new font and a grey-mauve colour scheme to suit its' upcoming remit as an archive channel. Three didn't need much changing.
The last things I have are some final updates to the Chart Show TV mock I'd published a while back:
https://up.metropol247.co.uk/Lynetwork/chartshow1.png
The full channel line-up with updated logos. Hits finally has its own specific font and a new seasonal addition to the lineup with Pride. The Chart Show symbol itself is also slightly modified to be more evened out.

One last look at the video graphics with the updated logo.

And now for something I'd been working on for a while but was never sure whether to post. These are the menu graphics which feature the same spiral elements from the animated video graphics. The NOW/NEXT/LATER would move depending on which one was being talked about at the time.

Cross channel version featuring Jams and Dance.

And finally a promo endboard! Excuse the incredibly fuzzy spiral graphics.
The last piece of Chart Show presentation I worked on was Chart Show Go:

This would be the app where you could stream the Chart Show channels - both the ones on TV and a couple of web-exclusive streaming channels - and vote for what videos you want to see on Buzz.
I have had such a great time looking at people's mocks and giving feedback, talking about TV presentation and putting forth a few ideas of my own, so I hope that you get a kick out of these little scraps. Even if it's just the terrible GIMP work on the BBC One mockups
