I've decided to remake the Live and Kicking studio mock I made about a year ago.
Many members felt that my studio looked too industrial and looked more like an office rather then a television studio.

So I've taken the time to redesign it and here is the result........

I've tried to make the studio look modern as well as trying to make it not look like an office this time.

I've decided to include a kitchen area into the design so that a cooking segment could be part of the show.

Sorry, apart from the logo, I see nothing here that resembles Live & Kicking at all.

It's extremely basic and extremely small. You need to start from scratch and include more elements because at the moment its just a room with a sofa and a kitchen worktop.

Thanks for your review RDJ,
Guess I've taken the simplifying of it a little too far.

Could anyone tell me what a studio like this one would need to include.

1) I made a stage for music etc.
2) I provided a seating area for the presenters
3) and also included a cooking area.

Cant really think of much else it would need TBH so if anyone could give me some ideas as to what to include that would be great?

That stage would be completely impractical.
- it's too small
- you can't use it while setting up at the kitchen / interview area
- cameras on the floor can only get to half the width
- it looks horrible - I'm presuming this is supposed to be for a modern remake of the programme, but even if it was for the original there was much more interest in the background of the music areas than you are providing back then.

There are several very good reasons performance areas are often found opposite the main studio areas.

Not good. Far too dark for it's own good (much like your BBC News mock), too basic, and not to mention, incredibly tiny - there's nowhere for the cameras/trundles to go.

1 star. Sorry.

No worries FrancisIdents,

Honesty is the best policy otherwise how can others improve.
Think I should probably give up mocking television studios as I don't seem to be doing very well at it so far.
But at least I've given it go.

There are many reasons why set design is a skill. It is a skill you do not possess.

I'm not sure about this. If you were to continue, the first step would be add colour.

Needs colour and space. Also the kitchen is far too dominant for a show that isn't about cooking - if you're imagining how it might work in a smaller space don't waste so much space with a kitchen.
